Greg and Enrique with the 2008 2nd Place Trophy

Enrique Ramirez (right)

Enrique’s passion for racing cars is only surpassed by his passion for his family and helping children in need. Whether through being a foster and adoptive parent or through his charity work with Save the Children! He has a very supportive and understanding wife, Suzanne, who allows him to pursue his automotive passion and shares his passion for children. Enrique considers himself the luckiest person on the planet to have found such an incredible partner!

Racing for the Children was put together in 1999 as Suzanne and Enrique were preparing to take on their first One Lap of America. They knew that through participation in the event, they could raise money and awareness for children in need throughout the US and the world! They have been going strong ever since!

Enrique and Suzanne know they could not have accomplished this without the help of all the sponsors, friends and families who have always been wonderful in their support. They have counted on the support of Volkswagen of America, Subaru North America, H&R Special Springs, KONI North America, Vortech Engineering, Wilwood Engineering, StopTech, Virtual World Parts, Hospice Family Care, British Telecom and many, many, more!

Greg Hagopian (left)

Greg Hagopian is an auto enthusiast who began his driving skill development efforts at Skip Barber's Competition School back in 1994. Additional training was gradually accumulated prior to making the decision to participate in his first One Lap of America (OLOA) in 1998.

Sharing the competition driving with his father Gary, the pair finished 3rd in the Luxury Sedan Class (1998 Jaguar XJR8) in their first outing. Bitten by the One Lap bug, Greg spent a significant amount of time over the next year attending Porsche and BMW Club driver's schools to further develop his driving abilities. This extra effort helped lead the team to a Class victory in 1999 - the first of a total of four class wins accumulated over nine years of OLOA competition.

As Greg's interest, experience and driving ability improved, he transitioned to an instructor's role in 2002. He has since instructed with the Audi, BMW, Jaguar, Late Apex, PCA, SCCA and SCDA driving schools. Greg has driven and instructed at a wide variety of premier venues in the United States, including: Daytona, Lime Rock, Mid Ohio, Road America, Road Atlanta, Sebring and Watkins Glen.

Greg has successfully driven rear wheel drive (1999 Luxury Sedan Class winner), all wheel drive (2002 Mid Priced Sedan Class winner) and front wheel drive (2003 SSGT2 Class & 2009 Economy Class winner) vehicles in OLOA competition. He enjoys and participates in each year's event with the same zeal, regardless of the vehicle entered. You can rely on him to show a level of focus and committment that is second to none in this venue!
